Jukebox musicals are nothing new — there's Mamma Mia, Jersey Boys, & Juliet, and so many more. However, one that specifically centers country music is rarer, and J.T. Harding's catalogue is rich in country hits. Born in Nashville, Harding has written songs for Uncle Kracker, Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban, Blake Shelton, Dierks Bentley, Darius Rucker, and others.
Those songs are the star of this new musical, which is produced by Gabrielle Palitz, known for her Broadway credits including Buena Vista Social Club, Our Town, Bandstand, and others.
“The Wicked Tickle feels like Nashville’s Broadway dropped right into the middle of Manhattan — loud, alive, and full of stories,” Harding said in a statement. “The great critical and audience response meant the world to us. Taking the show to midtown feels like opening the doors even wider, letting the music, the stories, and the heart of this show reach an even bigger audience.”
