About Bug on Broadway

Get Bug tickets to see Emmy and Tony Award nominee Carrie Coon (The White Lotus, The Gilded Age) in the long-awaited Broadway debut of Pulitzer Prize winner Tracy Letts's sexy psychological thriller. The New York Times advises, "Buckle up and brace yourself because Bug is obscenely exciting."

A lonely waitress (Coon) and a mysterious drifter (Namir Smallwood) meet in a motel. The place has a pest problem, the couple has relationship problems, and the combination pulls them into a fear-filled downward spiral. A fierce and taut drama about paranoia and intimacy, Bug finally crawls onto Broadway 30 years after its debut.

More information about Bug on Broadway

Though this is the first Broadway production for Bug, Tracy Letts has worked on Broadway both as a writer and performer, winning Tony Awards in both categories — as the playwright of August: Osage County and as a star of a 2012 revival of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?. Carrie Coon made her debut in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, was nominated for a Tony Award, and is now known for her many starring TV roles in hit HBO series.

Bug is the third play in short order to transfer to Broadway from Chicago’s acclaimed Steppenwolf Theater Company, following Branden Jacobs-Jenkins’s Purpose, which won the 2025 Tony Award for Best Play, and Samuel D. Hunter’s Little Bear Ridge Road, on Broadway in fall 2025.
